From primary school, I’ve spent… 18 years at school or college/university. I’ve stopped studying for now… but if I decide to do a PHD degree, that would add another 3+ years. :O

After my A levels, I did a 4 year undergraduate degree in psychology, and than another year doing a MSc in Health Psychology. It took me 3.5 years to finish my PhD, at which point I became a qualified psychologist. I’m also just finishing off another qualification to allow me to practice as a health psychologist, so that’s been another 2 years! It’s safe to say that training as a psychologist takes a long time, but I’ve really enjoyed everything I’ve done and whilst it’s been hard at times it’s all been worth it. I’m also a big believer in life-long learning, as this helps us to make sure that what we’re doing is up-to-date and accurate, so every qualification I’ve done helps me to be better at my job.

Almost 30 years and probably won’t stop studying/ learning,

as things change we need to carry on learning about your self and the environment

Its taken me longer to get to where I am because I had to work to pay bills and care for the family but I am glad i did it because education wasn’t going anywhere and nor was I. Being made homeless over the years when the rent went up was tough but that didn’t stop me as I worked hard to save up and buy our family home! Now we are in a great place but I didn’t neglect my studies when it got hard, its always been a part of me and always will be.
