You don’t need any specific GCSEs, just sufficient grades to enable you to go on to study at sixth form or college. It’s a good idea to make sure you cover science, English and maths and that you do well in these areas, as some universities will also require that you get above a C grade in these subjects. You also don’t need to study any specific subjects at sixth form or college in order to become a psychologist; again, it’s more about studying a subject that will allow you to get a good enough grade to go on to study at university. The most important thing is that you study for a degree in psychology at university that is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), as this will be your foundation for any next steps in psychology.

From my experience , you don’t really need G.C.S.E’s or A levels to become a Psychologist , although they help, they are other routes. I don’t think traditional one fit model is effective as learning needs are different.
I got 3 C’s one in Drama and 2 in English and then went to NVQ, I think a balance between work and study has helped me where I am today.
