      A data scientist uses Maths and Statistics with large datasets to solve problems.

      I was working as a science teacher, and i discovered this story about Brittany Wenger: https://thebeakerlife.com/stem-heroes-brittany-wenger-9a41bb7ef594. She used used maths and computing to code an algorithm that could detect cancer in pictures of breast tissue 99.1% of the time. I felt then I had to learn more about maths and computing, and artificial intelligence, so I studied a Masters part-time in order to learn about Data Science. In the end, it helped me on the journey to do the research that I am doing now.
